First Wesel Marathon – 5th Jan 2020
What a brilliantly organised event this was, considering they anticipated 500’ish runners in the planning stages but in fact 1400+ runners attended.
Another great event put on by our Twin town and one we (FRR) were again invited to attend.
A 6 lap, fast & flat course around the Auesee (lake) with 6 varied music stations per lap.
The finish line naturally provided beer & an enormous handmade medal by Kai who regularly runs the Coastal 10 when on their return visit to us.
Options for this event are a half marathon, half marathon relay, marathon & marathon relay.
Highly recommended and may be fun to have a few more attending next year on 3rd January 2021.
We are also invited to attend the Moonlightlauf on 22nd of May this year, its only 4’ish miles but a fabulous atmosphere and leaves the weekend free for our now regular long bike rides along the Rhine with coffee & cake stop obviously. This is more of fun social trip than all about running but also certainly worth the trip.
The Wesel’ers will again be visiting us for our Coastal 10 on 13th September, they are a crazy but super friendly group and the effort by others in our Club to also get to know them is always appreciated.
