Remaining two cross country series fixtures

Greetings to one and all

The next cross country event, and 4th in the series, is to be held by Bungay Black Dog at Heveningham Hall on Sunday 15th Feb. This is the same venue as last year and was a much loved mud bath by all, the procedure is the same as normal, no need to pre-register just turn up on the day in FRR red t-shirt/vest and support your club. As a reward FRR will pay your £4 entry to compete, so wave the red flag and get a free race – what could be easier…. Richard Smith has kindly offered to do the race results on the day so report to him and I will see you on the start line ready for the off, details from BBD are below:

SUFFOLK WINTER LEAGUE (ROUND 4)
BUNGAY (Heveningham Hall)

Directions for the Heveningham Hall venue

Heveningham Hall is midway between the villages of Heveningham and Walpole.
Use the entrance off the B1117.
Satnav postcode is IP19 0PN.
We will put runners notices on the roads locally to assist runners.
The gates to the estate open automatically. You do need to be a little patient but they open gracefully and in a manner befitting such a grand place!!!

We anticipate that the junior run will start at 11am and the seniors at 11.15.

Parking will be just inside the gates and will be signed and marshalled.
The races take place over a mix of grass meadow and (for seniors) woodland tracks.
For those contemplating spikes, both junior and senior races cross two tarmac estate roads;

The last cross country event, and 5th in the series, is to be held by St Edmunds Pacers at Nowton Park in Bury on Sunday 1st March. This is the same venue as normal and the same venue as they do their Friday 5 race from, the procedure is the same as normal, no need to pre-register just turn up on the day in FRR red t-shirt/vest and support your club. As a reward FRR will pay your £4 entry to compete, so wave the red flag and get a free race – what could be easier…. This event usually clashes with a popular 20 mile race but this year the other fixtures have changed so is available to all for the last chance to test their mettle against the cross country in this series….

The post code for Nowton Park is IP29 5BD and they normally arrange to have the car park pay-display meters voided for the duration of the race/event.
