THE COURSE

Like its much loved 10KM predecessor, the Martlesham 7 will start and finish on the village green with the remainder of the flat course on tarmac roads or pavements, with four loops of approximately 2.5KM each.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

We ask that all participants and spectators be considerate of local residents when travelling to and from the event.

Important: Please note there will be no participant car parking available at race HQ or within the village.

This year car parking will be provided at the nearby Barrack Square (Martlesham Heath Business Park), a short walk from the village (sat nav postcode IP5 3RF).

Parking will be limited and we would encourage participants to lift share.  Please follow marshal’s directions and use the foot bridge next to Martlesham Leisure and Play2Day to cross the A12 to race HQ.

Alternatively, Martlesham Heath is well served by public transport, such as the route 66 and park-and-ride services from First Group.  It is also connected to the National Cycle Network.

Blue badge holders please contact the race director for separate parking arrangements.

FACILITIES

Race numbers can be collected from Race HQ on race day from 9.30am.

Portable toilet facilities will be available at race HQ

Baggage drop will be available, you will require your race number in order to pick up your bag after the race.

The Birchwood Primary School PTFA will be providing a selection of refreshments in the pavilion, raising funds for the school’s mental wellbeing hub.  The Douglas Bader will also be open after the event to enjoy a post-race celebratory drink.

SAFETY

All headphones (including bone conducting ones) are strictly prohibited as participants must be able to clearly hear instructions from race officials and marshals at all times.  Wearing headphones will result in disqualification.

Race numbers must be worn on the front of participants running tops.  Please complete the emergency and medical information sections on the reverse of the running number in full.

TIMING AND RESULTS

The race will be accurately timed using reusable timing chips which must be attached to your running shoe, please see the marshals once you have crossed the finish line to have the timing chip removed.
