Donation to East Anglian Air Ambulance

Felixstowe Road Runners have presented a cheque for £2000 to East Anglian Air Ambulance in memory of Ben Jacobs, a much-loved club member, who was tragically killed in 2023.

The cheque was received by Yvonne Cornwell in front of over 450 runners before the start of the club’s annual Kirton 5 mile race. Ben’s son and daughter, Tom and Olivia, were also in attendance.

East Anglian Air Ambulance provide life-saving critical care 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year by air and road. The charity receives no regular government funding and relies on donations to keep their two helicopters flying and saving lives.

Ben was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge following a cycling accident in May 2023 where he sadly died two days later. Ben was an active member of Felixstowe Road Runners, and the club was proud to show their support for the charity that did so much to help Ben and thousands of others each year across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
